Only a few days to go and
we'll be back to normal adverts on the TV.
I get fed up with the
same Chistmassy ones from early November that think they're being
cute and clever. The only thing going for them in my opinion is that
there are some great story ideas in there for us writers. These are the
ones that have triggered my imagination this year:
The two sisters swapping
Christmas presents who we then see in flashback fighting on the
street as kids and comparing make-up in the bathroom as teenagers all
to the soundtrack of Caravan Of Love. (Boots)
The young lad encouraging
his sister to feed the reindeer and put the star on the tree.
(Morrisons)
The BBC trailer with the
little girl who wants to dance but her dad always seems busy. This
one begs the question – where's mum?
Do you have any
favourites?
Have a great Christmas
everyone.
I only ever watch recorded TV and skip through the adverts so I can honestly say I haven't seen a single Christmas one! Wishing you a very happy Christmas, Keith.
ReplyDeleteGood idea, Wendy. But my TV isn't clever enough to do that. Merry Christmas and a productive New Year.
DeleteI've seen the dancing kid and dad one, which is lovely. (I guess Mum is a surgeon and at work). I haven't seen the others you've mentioned.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I watch too much telly, Patsy. Have a great Christmas.
DeleteLike Wendy, I watch all recorded stuff so never see the adverts. I'm starting to wonder what I'm missing :-) Happy Christmas!
ReplyDeleteNot a lot, Teresa. Merry Christmas.
DeleteHaving only just got a new tv after being without one for a few months, I've not really paid attention to anything, and most adverts slip by anyway.
ReplyDeleteHave a good Christmas Keith, and I know you'll be doing plenty of writing as well.
Merry Christmas, Carol. See you on the 10th.
DeleteI'm a big softy when it comes to some of the sappy Christmas commercials. Most commercials I hate, hate, hate. But I'll take a commercial any day over political ads. UGH! Lies, lies, lies!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you there, Susan. Happy New Year.
DeleteHi Keith. My favourite was also one you chose, the BBC animation where the little girl loves to dance. I also love the big, Coca Cola juggernaut rolling into town with all its lights on. Then I know Christmas is just around the corner.
ReplyDeleteI hope all's well with you and yours!
Hi, Angela. A belated Happy New Year to you.
